THE WEDDING PARTY

The Bride's Attendants

Lindsay Weisberg-
Maid of Honor
Lindsay and Sara have been friends since freshman year at Gustavus Adolphus College, where they lived on the same floor and were later roommates. Many of the Pine City folks know Lindsay from her recurring role in the Scholin Family's St. Lucia celebration, where she graciously agrees to wake up early and help keep the table stocked. Lindsay is currently studying nutrition at the University of Minnesota. She was able to be in D.C. for Sara and Phil's first wedding in April.

Anna Scholin-
Bridesmaid
Anna is Sara's older sister, so if you want to know any embarrassing stories from Sara's childhood, Anna's your girl! She decided to escape the cold of Minnesota and has spent the last few years going to school and working in San Francisco. Anna currently practices what she calls, "nerd law". She loves creating art and exploring the Bay Area.

Lori & Millie Houston-
Bridesmaids
Lori is Phillip's older sister. She is the Director of City Center Development and Operations for the City of San Antonio. Lori, and her husband Sam, are expecting their first baby, little Millie Hope, September 1st. At their February visit, the baby news was announced to Phil and Lori's parents by giving Lori a State Department onesie. The entire family is looking forward to the arrival of baby Houston, except perhaps, for Lori and Sam's dog, Max.

Lexi Prahl-
Bridesmaid
Lexi and Sara met at Gustavus Adolphus College when Lexi was also assigned to work at The Third Floor Youth Center. Many hours were spent organizing activities, supervising the kids, and training staff as Lexi and Sara took over as the Co-Coordinators of the Youth Center. If Lexi looks familiar, it might be because she is former Sibley County Royalty! Lexi is currently studying Urban Planing at the University of Minnesota.

Lori Weaver-
Bridesmaid
Lori, and her husband, Aaron, served in Peace Corps Macedonia with Sara and Phillip. Lori and Aaron lived in the wine region in Macedonia, so they had many visitors! Lori and Sara were partners in crime for many Peace Corps activities, especially the National Spelling Bee and Camp GLOW (Girls Leading Our World). Throughout the past few years, Lori and Sara have realized just how similar they are, to the point where Aaron and Phil sometimes just shake their heads in disbelief.

Ava Guthrie-
Flower girl
Ava is Phillip's niece. She is five-years-old and loves Barbies and American Girl dolls. She will start kindergarten in the fall and can't wait to learn to read. She loves art and wants to be an artist when she grows up. Ava also really enjoys baking with her granny and grandma.

The Groom's Attendants

Steven Guthrie-
Best Man
Steven is Phillip's older brother. He lives in Arizona with his wife, Jennifer, and their three kids, Liam, Ava, and Finnegan. Steven and Phillip have an uncanny ability to communicate in ways that only the two of them understand.

Michael Mahoney-
Groomsman
Mike and Phil met during their undergrad years at Georgetown, however they didn't really become friends until after college. Mike visited Phil and Sara in Macedonia, where they went on a great Balkan adventure, spanning from Italy down to Greece. Mike will be moving to California shortly to start work at Milbank.

Alastair Olive-
Groomsman
Alastair and Phillip met during grad school at the University of Texas- San Antonio and became fast friends over several bottles of Sweetwater in Atlanta, Georgia. He and his wife, Yvonne, visited Phil and Sara in Macedonia and unfortunately both got hit with food poisoning (Sara warned everyone that street fish in Skopje wasn't the best idea).

Maxton Arcand and Jason Kingsley-
Groomsmen
Max and Jason were both Peace Corps Volunteers with Phillip and Sara. Max was the officiant at their April wedding (and did a fantastic job!). He lives near Boston, where he works for a company that organizes gap-year programs. Jason lives in D.C., so Phil and Sara see him often. As he introduced the happy couple, he had the honor to serve as their кум (Macedonian godfather) for the April wedding.

Liam Guthrie-
Ring Bearer
Liam is Phillip's nephew. He is nine-years-old and loves his 3rd grade advanced reading class. He enjoys drawing comics and is considering a career as a comic book illustrator or an engineer. Liam likes to go hiking and backyard camping. His favorite foods are steak and french fries. He also loves a good joke!

Finnegan Guthrie-
Ring Bearer
Finnegan is Phillip's youngest nephew. He will be two-years-old in July. He loves life and exploring the world. Finn LOVES The Wiggles and is a fantastic dancer. He also loves carrying a backpack and playing outside, especially with his big brother and sister.

The Ushers

Adam and Cara Bradbury
Adam and Cara served in the Peace Corps with Phillip and Sara. Adam is known for his "muppeting" around the kitchen making homemade gnocchi, while his wife, Cara spent some of her Peace Corps time working with their dog, Spike, in his debut film, "Meditations on First Gastronomy". They live in Colorado where Adam is finishing his Master's and Cara works for the Walton Family Foundation.

Max Houston
Max is Lori and Sam's dog. He was recently featured on the San Antonio news for the reopening of Travis Park. When Max gets tired, he likes to roll onto his back, stick his legs up in the air, and take a nap. He has been practicing his "good boy" pose so he will be all ready come October.
